Where is everyone?
This morning is late starting here at the Carlton! After seeing how late everyone was out last night it's no wonder that no one is in the conference room. Supposedly the casino saw lots of action last night. Well, the schedule is off by at least 30 minutes. Knowing how Alex runs these events I am predicting being off by at least two hours come noon. I'm not going to complain too much but this is quite annoying as I pay for an agenda and want to be on time. I have to take off around noon and will end up missing part of the conference I wanted to be around for. This is not good. Alex needs to do something about this in the future. Otherwise, the evening activities were quite good and I can't complain about all the networking opportunities. I also was able to meet tons of new people and do have to admit this is one of the better Red Herring events I've attended.
At the same time, as many may know, it's been rumored that the Red Herring magazine is pretty shaky in terms of being a sustainable business. It may even be on its last legs if you're to believe what Valleywag is writing. I'm curious whether they manage to turn it around and keep it going. With the way the venture industry is booming at the moment, it would be almost comical to see a venture oriented magazine bite the dust. Hope they manage to pull through!
