Slow start to event but hopeful!
The initial kick-off by Alex wasn't spectacular but a nice start to set the tone for the event. The keynote by Pekka from Blyk was a bit dull. He didn't really go into any "meat" in regards to how they plan on monetizing their model. A bit of a disappointment as I was excited to find out mre. Next came Nikolaj from Polar Rose. This is a cool busines where allows for visual search. If they nail it, this is huge. At the same time, listening to Nikolaj present the challenges facing them on the technology front made me realize just how much harder it's going to be. This is one company I will continue to follow, if for no other reason but to be a user. Next up was Philippe from Truffle Venture. Oh well, no comments here. I enjoyed the Rountable about "Disrupting the Wireless World" as this is a space I am focusing quite a bit of time on. Most interesting were the comments from Truphone and Rebtel. They're doing some cool things but competition is huge. I'm going to make an attempt to speak with each of these people individually to get a better idea of what is really going on. Their stage effort was more of a marketing excercise.

Hello Paul -
I presented the Rebtel story at VON. I am glad you found value in it and I would be happy to discuss further. I do believe that we have one of the most attractive services for users that allows them to use any mobile on any network.
