Down at the Red Herring 100 Event in Cannes

The Red Herring event in Cannes kicked off last night with the awards dinner for the Red Herring 100. Unfortunately, when coming down here I was expecting sun and warm weather. It was actually more summer in Hamburg when I left than here in the south of France. Oh the ends I go to for this job. :-)

It seems to be quite a good turn-out at the event and I'm curious to see how the rest of the agenda is pulled off. I'm actually writing directly from the tent where the event is being held. That's right, you heard correct. There's a tent in the parking lot of the venue where the actual activities are taking place. I guess some logistical mishap took place and the ballroom was taken...who knows. I'll try to "live blog" a bit as the presentations take place. Stay tuned.
