Do I Really "Like" It
Check this out. A new site allowing for visual search: like.com from the folks at Riya. The goal is to be able to paste in any image you find, and search for whatever you want to from that image. This means you see a pic of Schwarzenneger wearing a watch you like, you upload it (or paste it in), then highlight the watch, and like.com goes and finds it for you, letting you know what it is, what is similar to it, and where you can buy it. This is very cool! Question is how well will it work? The site is still alpha (or is that really beta) but they plan to allow uploading of pics in the near future which should make it offer what most people want. I really don't care much for their suggestions which are up on their site now. I want to find my own things! If they nail this one it will be a winner in my opinion.

Update: My friend Alexander Straub reminded me that my memory lapsed and I had already seen something like this a while before Riya came out with Like.com. Alexander is involved in a start-up called Pixsta doing pretty much the same thing (and I feel a bit further along) than Riya's stuff. Check it out on the ChezImelda site! It looks like this space is heating up and I'm rooting for the team in Europe!
